Professor Ainurul Rosli specialises in SME growth programme development with special interest in small business scaleup strategies for impact. Here she explains what she will be looking for when she comes to judge her 10 finalist.
What Ainurul Said:
I’m speaking today from the Great British Business Show, Europe’s largest business event. A perfect timing for us to have a conversation about the Growth Business Award.
So what does it take to be a winner in this category?
Well, what we are looking for are businesses who enable sustainable, effective, profitable growth, not growth at all cost. So we understand that growth measure have a different outcome and impact.
So let’s unpack three important things that we are looking for. The first one is growth as an outcome. So we just want to understand better what it means for you to grow. So you can share with us your revenue changes, number of employees, written on investment, and more importantly, is your market share.
Secondly, we also want to understand better how you grow. So you could actually share with us how you implement the realistic sustainable strategy that is beneficial to your bottom line, but also to your employees.
Finally, what we are looking for is the impact of the growth to your employees importantly, stakeholders, suppliers, members of the community and the community that you are serving. So basically what we want to understand better is the transformation within the organisation as a consequence of growth.
As a professor leading business support program, and help to grow management at Brunel. I have been pleasured to learn a lot from local businesses to build their foundation from the Help to Grow management program and the foundation for growth is more important thing.
I’m going to share with you what I’ve learned from them, and I look forward to receive your transformative growth journey in the application.
If you think the above describes your business, then you could be our next Business Innovation of the Year winer. Read more about what we’re looking for, the entry FAQ, and then send in your application. This time next year, we could be featuring a video of YOU telling people how they could win.
