The team behind the awards

The Business Champion Awards are run by a small team at CBM Events, part of Capital Business Media, publisher of Business Matters.

Richard Alvin – awards director

Richard founded the Business Champion Awards in 2021 and chairs the judging process. He is managing director of Capital Business Media and has spent more than 25 years telling the stories of British business through Business Matters and its predecessors. He is an honorary teaching professor at Lancaster University and has sat on judging panels for other national awards for more than a decade before wanting to fix the obvious flaws that he was witnessing. ralvin@cbmeg.co.uk

Andrea Thompson – events and awards manager

Andrea has produced the Business Champion Awards grand final since the programme launched in 2021, alongside dinners, receptions and corporate events across London. She is leading the production of the 2027 grand final. athompson@cbmeg.co.uk

Cherry Martin – content director

Cherry is associate editor of Business Matters and content director of the awards. Over eighteen years she has interviewed thousands of business owners; her job is to make sure every finalist’s story is told well. cmartin@cbmeg.co.uk

Grace Moseley – senior graphic designer

Grace has designed the awards since the programme launched in 2021 – from social media and email to the look of the grand final itself. Before the awards she worked in marketing at the Daily Mail and on YOU magazine. gmoseley@cbmeg.co.uk
